Service Designer
Design products that matter, from early concepts to market-ready solutions, working at the intersection of design, technology, and business.
This position requires that you reside in Oslo or the surrounding area. Proficiency in Norwegian is considered a strong advantage and will be weighted highly in the selection process.
About us
At Reodor Studios, we help ambitious companies turn growth goals into business reality. Over the last years we've scaled fast, with talented people, dozens of high-impact projects, and a growing portfolio of ventures. Our work spans strategy, design, and technology, but unlike most consultancies, we don't stop at advice. Where others stop at slides, we build, test, and launch.
We combine consulting and venture building to help companies find new revenue streams, expand into new markets, and develop or improve products and services. With a touch of humility, we dare say we're specialists in early-stage innovation, working from insights and concepts all the way to market-ready solutions. Things move fast here, and we make sure ideas turn into something concrete and valuable.
What sets us apart is how we blend consulting with the ability to actually build new companies. We have a team that matches our ambitions: economists, product designers, cybernetics experts, creative technologists, and more than two-thirds of us have founded and run our own companies.
Our design team currently consists of four talented individuals who work closely with our tech and business teams. We are in an exciting growth phase and are now expanding the team with several roles, including Service Designer.
As a Service Designer at Reodor, you will play a key role in leading projects with a strong focus on the insight phase. You'll dive deep into users' and customers' needs through extensive insight work, including qualitative and quantitative research and mapping of user journeys and ecosystems.
You'll facilitate workshops and collaborate in cross-functional teams to drive ideation, concept development, prototyping, and testing. At the same time, you'll work closely with clients to understand their goals and develop services that provide a clear competitive advantage.
Business understanding is an important part of the role – you have the ability to connect design work to business objectives and ideally have experience with business design. You're comfortable identifying opportunities that can create measurable results for clients, and you thrive working at the intersection of design, technology, and business.
Your role:
As a Service Designer at Reodor Studios, you will:
Drive design processes: Lead service design processes from insight work to implementation, focusing on delivering solutions that are both user-centered and commercially effective.
Conduct insight and analysis work: Plan and execute qualitative user research, analyze insights, and use this as the foundation for strategic design decisions.
Connect design and business objectives: Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop solutions that improve user experiences while supporting the client's growth and revenue goals.
Collaborate across disciplines: Work together with business, technology, and design teams to translate strategic visions into concrete design solutions.
Contribute to visual communication: Use strong visual skills to clarify concepts and solutions through prototypes, system maps, and frameworks.
We're looking for someone who:
Has at least 5 years of experience as a service designer, preferably from an agency or consultancy, and with work across different industries. Perhaps you've also been in a start-up environment or run your own projects or companies? It's not a requirement, but a significant plus!
You have:
A bachelor's or master's degree in design with specialization in service design, UX, or interaction design.
Solid experience with qualitative user research and the ability to analyze and structure insight material systematically.
Experience with digital user experiences and a good understanding of how UX and service design integrate into the development of digital products. Competence in prototyping, wireframes, and user testing is an advantage.
The ability to visualize complex systems and relationships using methods such as gigamapping and service blueprints.
Confidence in building and maintaining client relationships, leading workshops, and actively participating throughout the design process.
Strong visual skills and good communication abilities in Norwegian and English.
With us, it's important to be self-driven, pragmatic, curious, and action-oriented – you must thrive on making things happen, often at a high pace.
What we can offer:
An ambitious and dynamic environment where you get the opportunity to contribute across the company's many areas. Exciting projects where we're involved all the way – from identifying a challenge to launching new concepts in the market. And yes, we work on the most fun part!
Flexible working hours and great freedom to shape your own workday.
A social start-up environment characterized by collaboration, knowledge sharing, entrepreneurship, openness, and humor.
Competitive terms and the opportunity to participate in our share program.
6 weeks of vacation and the possibility of 4 weeks workation, where you can work from abroad.
The opportunity to pitch your ideas as possible ventures we can invest in building.
Social and professional events, such as an annual kick-off (we've been to Spain, Italy, France, and Morocco) and a ski trip to the company cabin in Ål.
Excited?
If you feel that this is a company and position that truly sparks your curiosity, we recommend you apply for the position. We evaluate candidates on a rolling basis.
